Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the anticipated five-year, USAID-funded Building Low Emissions Alternatives to Develop Economic Resilience and Sustainability (B-LEADERS) project in the Philippines. B-LEADERS will work with local counterparts and stakeholders to design and implement low emissions development strategies (LEDS) and to form Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) in the energy and transport sectors to address climate change and promote green economic growth. Responsibilities:

Provide overall technical direction and management oversight of project activities and operationsProvide overall management of project offices, activities, and operations Serve as key project liaison with USAID and multiple partner institutions at the regional and national levelsEnsure the completion of contractual deliverables

Qualifications:

Advanced degree in environmental or climate-change related studies such as natural resources management, environmental science, and environmental economics or related field requiredMinimum 10 years of experience working on global climate change issues and mitigation including designing green growth strategies for energy and transport sectors, attracting private investment to support climate change initiatives, and implementing LEDS interventionsAbility to lead teams in capacity building and institutional strengtheningKnowledgeable about policy and market issues associated with establishing public and private sector-based climate change mitigation plansExperience managing multi-stakeholder activities involving coordination with local, state, and national government agencies as well as the private sectorExperience working in Asian developing countries and familiarity with the political, social, and cultural context of working in Asia; Philippines experience preferredInternational donor experience required; chief of party experience strongly preferredExceptional written and oral communications skills essentialDemonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrityEnglish fluency required
