Description

-To develop and maintain adequate risk management processes, policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and internal policy, and update as necessary and to ensure compliance with these.

-To maintain awareness of risk policies and guidelines in Trust and ensure appropriate communication of such matters to Trust management

-To perform financial spreading and generate accurate credit ratings.

-To complete timely and quality issuer and counterparty reviews, ensuring that key and relevant risks, as well as material changes relevant to the credit risk of the account are addressed.

-To assess appropriateness of exposure and prepare financial projections and sensitivity analysis, with a view to providing a credit outlook for the account.

-To periodically review financial results and statements to monitor operating performance, liquidity position and financial condition of new and existing customers to keep relevant parties apprised of material changes and events.

-To integrate risk assessment of the issuer/counterparty and retail distribution risk assessment and evaluate more complex product structures as to its appropriateness and suitability for distribution to retail clients.

-To provide support to the functional heads in establishing and maintaining a strong control environment.

-To oversee and direct the implementation and maintenance of risk mitigation and self-assessment framework and standards in Trust (including Operational Risk, Information Security, Business Continuity Planning, Records Management, etc.).

-To track the status of corrective action on known issues and review plans as appropriate.

-To report slippage in corrective actions for senior management attention and ensure appropriate escalation of significant issues.

-To assist the businesses in developing solutions for identified risks.

-To coordinate the production and delivery of relevant materials and reports to internal and external parties.

Qualifications

-CPA/CFA. Post-graduate degree in a finance-related course is preferred.

-3-5 years experience in Trust, equity or credit research and analysis, preferably gained from Financial Institutions or Public Rating Agencies.

-Strong verbal and written communication skills.

-Good knowledge of accounting and corporate finance, financial modeling, as well as some knowledge of credit and banking products, credit analytics, risk assessment and valuation.

-Proven ability to work independently and in a team; computer literacy; and familiarity with Microsoft Excel.

-Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills.

-Well organized, detail oriented, efficient and able to work independently and think critically.

-Ability to work with all levels of management and staff and in a matrix environment.

-Excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to become part of a team to ensure full and complete adherence to corporate policies and other regulations.

-An understanding of risks, controls and audit procedures and the ability to independently conduct reviews of products and processes.

-Ability to critically review policies and procedures to ensure that they fully comply with all pertinent policies and regulations and do not result in significant risk. Must be able to review the processes in the broad context of the overall business, including an evaluation of risk/reward tradeoffs, and the ability to anticipate issues not yet of obvious direct impact.
