JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Supply Chain Management Director - Fort Hills Projects, the Manager SCM – Major/Sustaining Projects will lead, direct, and manage SCM-Major/Sustaining Project’s activities for a specific Project or Project Area by leveraging core supply chain functions to meet Engineering, Fabrication and Construction requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead, direct and manage the Supply Chain functions within the Suncor Supply Chain Management organization for specific Project or Project Area.
• Establish individual performance targets aligned with the overall Supply Chain organization and Project requirements.
• Drive compliance with Supply Chain Management policies, processes, procedures and strategies by SCM-Major/Sustaining Projects on an ongoing basis.
• Establish and steward budgets and forecasts.
• Provide short to medium term planning, scheduling, and coordinating for the supply of materials, services, and equipment.
• Collaborate with corporate SCM to ensure SCM-Major/Sustaining Projects is aligned to Petro Star Mount processes, policies, and activities.
• Lead and manage contracts with suppliers with regards to material handling activities.
• Ensure materials, equipment and services are delivered/mobilized to meet Project requirements and timelines.
• Monitor and guide the developed project scope for quality, cost, and schedule following the principles of the Petro Star Mount Project Implementation Methodology (SPIM).
• Maintain effective communication and positive collaborative relations within key stakeholders to specific Major/Sustaining Projects.
• Provide guidance and support to internal customers with regards to projects and assist project teams in the removal project barriers, and develop team members.
• Direct completion of project close-out reviews and ensure successful handoff to corporate SCM team.
• Lead, encourage and make recommendations for the continuous improvement of Petro Star Mount’s SCM-Major Projects practices and initiatives.
• Generate, propose and implement process improvements aligned to the strategic objectives for the SCM-Major/Sustaining Projects function as well as the Supply Chain organization as a whole.
• Regularly review materials / services strategies and enhance effectiveness of existing strategies or develop new strategies in response to changing environmental factors and evolving requirements of the business.
• Manages a team with project accountability for broad functions and capabilities – including process governance, performance management, systems support, key customer relations, and process improvement,

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of experience in supply chain management with at least 3 years in management roles of increasing levels of responsibility.
• Oil & Gas, Mining, Utilities or Warehouse Operations industry experience preferred.
• Post secondary business or supply chain degree preferred
• Strong people leadership and management in leading high-performance teams required.
• Have the capability to adjust to changing high pressure environment
• SAP experience is considered an asset
• Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage their time appropriately.
• Strong interpersonal communication (both written and oral) skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

This position may require travel to the worksites.
