Small and medium sized organizations represent a growth business for Microsoft more now than ever before due to the need for most businesses to do more with less and the evolution of Cloud Computing. With investments in stimulus and development funding, the Public Sector in particular is the fastest growing sector worldwide. This Public Sector business leader directs and orchestrates activities that drive revenue and share growth in this sector with emphasis on small and medium sized Government, Health and Education institutions.

The role is responsible for successfully growing share and achieving revenue growth and attainment, as well as ensuring strong customer satisfaction in the Public Sector within the subsidiary. This will be accomplished by leading a high performing virtual team across the subsidiary to plan, orchestrate and execute Public Sector marketing, partner engagement and sales execution.

In this role, you would be responsible for:

- Defining the subsidiary three-year growth strategy for the Public Sector business based on global guidelines

- Defining target markets and opportunity mapping through research, business insights and appropriate customer segmentation

- Completing the subsidiary fiscal year planning process for the Public Sector business, including budget, resource and investment planning

- Development of subsidiary relationship, account and territory plans and regularly reviewing them throughout the year

- Development of subsidiary sales and marketing plans and strategies that will enable revenue growth and improved performance

- Developing and driving local strategies to earn long term loyalty and recommendations from Public Sector customers

- Directly driving sales execution and relationship engagement with Public Sector customers. This may include resolving escalations and directly engaging with customers or partners to close deals

- Increasing depth and reach to target markets to and through partners by developing and driving local marketing, sales activation and lead generation programs for partners

- Orchestrating execution of Public Sector marketing campaigns to ensure that the value of Microsoft products and solutions for Public Sector is strongly communicated

- Collaborating with, coordinating and influencing virtual teams to achieve these responsibilities

- Regularly monitoring sales execution and performance, and working with subsidiary teams to develop correction plans when necessary

- Reporting quarterly results to subsidiary leadership

In addition to a strong track record for high performing sales management in a scaled environment, strong leadership skills particularly in virtual teaming is a required skill. Experience within a subsidiary sales environment is preferred as is experience selling technology. Prior experience working with Partners in sell/market with- and through-partner situations is a plus. Excellent communication skills including clear and concise verbal and written business communication, as well as exceptional influence and impact skills are required. Conviction to make clear outcome orientated business decisions within the parameters of driving the customer experience and Microsoft’s revenue is a necessary skill.

Specific qualifications include a BA/BS required, MBA preferred, and 10 or more years of related experience in sales and/or sales management.
