Lead Installation Engineer - Philippines

A large Oil and Gas Engineering Contractor currently requires a Lead Installation Engineer to be based in the Philippines.

This organisation is the Substructure Engineering Contractor for a large new self installing platform. The substructure consists of a barge deck for support of the topsides, 4 large diameter tubular legs and four steel footings. The platform is self installing using a heavy lift hydraulic jacking system. The structure is founded on a prepared seabed in 43m of water and is bridge linked to the existing shallow water platform. The platform is to be installed alongside the existing operating asset with minimum interruption. Installation is anticipated in late 2014 and project close-out is to be complete in early 2015.

The Lead Installation Engineer is to join the project team and be responsible for the following work scope:

Lead up the Marine Operations and Installation Engineering worksEnsure that the Marine Operations and Installation works can be carried out safely and in accordance with the Client's requirements for Health, Safety, Security and Environment.Provide supervision to the Naval Architects carrying out the installation and hydrodynamic analysis workProvide supervision and guidance for the wave tank testing works to be carried out early in detailed design.Prepare high level plans and procedures for all aspects of installation, including seabed preparation, wet-tow, installation, scour protection, solid ballasting, bridging installation and decommissioning of all installation systems. Plans and procedures to be sufficient for completion of detailed design.Develop detailed specifications and scopes of work for all installation packages for procurement of the transportation and installation contractors.Work with the topsides layout team to develop layouts for all temporary systems.Work with the structural team for the design of all temporary works, including boat landings, temporary access, equipment supports, seafastenings, etc.Provide follow-on support to the Client for the implementation phase post detailed design, including review of procedures by the transportation and installation contractors, response to RFI and TQs, participation in HAZIDs, risk assessments and other associated workshops.Participate in the installation work, including providing offshore assistance to the Client during all aspects of the Marine Operations associated with platform installation.

The candidate is expected to have the following experience:

Engineering Degree8-15 years experience in installation of offshore structures.Specific experience working with major oil companies, including working under the rigorous HSE policies of the major oil companies.Experience working with design contractors and leading up an installation engineering teamPreferable to have experience working with self-installing platform or heavy lifting for offshore structuresPreferable to have experience working in South East Asia and specifically the Philippines.
