The Risk Management organization is an independent function within Citigroup, which partners with theAPAC was established in Manila in early 2007 as a regional credit research and analysis center supporting ICG Corporate Banking Corporate, Public Sector and Financial Institutions clients across 17 countries in Asia.The Corporates Unit comprises ~25 credit analysts and is structured along 4 industry-aligned teams as well as a Financial Analysis and Support Team (FAST), with responsibility for financial spreading and generating obligor risk ratings, performing annual and interim credit reviews of Corporate borrowers and industry analysis across Asia.

Key Responsibilities
-Set tactical direction, credit evaluation quality, and execution standards for the team in line with regional risk priorities;
-Coach and mentor Analysts to produce high quality analysis with insightful content. The Unit Head also fosters a can-do attitude among the team and provides guidance on soft skills (e.g. influencing, negotiating, managing conflicts);
-Manage equitable allocation of workload across industry and geography. The position requires close coordination of workflow requirements with the ASEAN Research and Analysis Unit, and with the respective Country Risk Managers;
-Ensure timely and quality risk analysis and assessment for the portfolio covered, which includes annual reviews, interim reviews, classified credit reports and industry analysis. Ensure that all analytical work is compliant with Citi's credit and other policies;
-Ensure timely problem recognition and classification of corporate obligors through close monitoring of financial and operating performance as well as industry and market developments affecting the credits.
-Coordinate completion of periodic portfolio reports for Country Risk Managers and Senior Risk Management. Manage execution of stress tests and other special projects/needs as defined by Senior Risk Management.
-Effectively coordinate with country risk managers and business units as well as industry, product and risk counterparts regionally and globally in accomplishing the abovementioned tasks. Coordinate with CoEs and Staffers in other regions with a continuous process improvement mindset to identify efficiencies and share/adopt best practices. Instil CPI mindset in all team members;
-Manage formal performance review process for team, including setting and monitoring performance against goals, providing regular feedback and assisting in compensation recommendations. Identify developmental opportunities to provide staff growth;
-Develop individual and team training plans for each Analyst, which include formal (class) and informal (in-house) delivery methods via partnering with Regional Risk, Training Development, Business and Product where appropriate. Build and sustain team morale;
-Play a leading role identification and recruitment of talent from internal and external sources, including local campus recruitment efforts;
-Accommodate routine needs of Analysts including coordination of compliance and personal leave, managing team expenses within budget, ensuring information sources remain current/relevant, and that technology needs are identified and escalated as appropriate

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience
-A thorough understanding of fundamental credit analysis is required, as well as product experience sufficient to evaluate and prioritize demands of differing complexity/specialization from Business partners.
-Proven leadership capabilities including strong thought leadership, effective decision making, strategy development and ability to drive results
-Ability to manage execution by providing hands-on coaching and development of Analysts, as well as strong desire to help create a high performance winning team.

Skills
-Sound credit skills are essential
-Coaching and sharing knowledge
-Excellent organizational and communication

Qualifications
-Educated to degree standard or equivalent
-MBA is considered advantageous
-Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
