Materials Preservation Inspector - Philippines
Our client is a major oil and gas company within Australia and is the largest producer of gas to the domestic market within the country. Active for more than 40 years, they have the largest exploration portfolio by area and are currently listed as one of Australia's Top 30 Companies.
The Role:
As the Materials Preservation Inspector, you will report to the Lead Mechanical Engineer. This position will be based in Batangas, with a preferred start date of 1st December 2012. The expected duration in Batangas will be to end 2014, and possibly be transferred to site on Curtis Island, Gladstone, Queensland, Australia.
Responsibilities:
Report on Contractor compliance with Project Specification and Material documents related to material preservation and equipment maintenance.
Monitor the EPC Contractor in the execution of his responsibilities under the EPC Contract in respect of material preservation and equipment maintenance.
Check and confirm status of Contractors compliance with all relevant Quality Assurance Plans, Procedures, Inspection and Material records.
Monitor and audit all material activities related to storage, preservation and maintenance of all Project materials and equipment on a day-to-day basis and as directed by Lead Mechanical Engineer.
Maintain a status report of materials arrived and installed against planned dates and location details of all equipment in temporary lay-down areas
Verify that all Material documents used on site are the current revision.
Check that Superseded documents are withdrawn from use.
Site Supervision:
Review and comment on Contractors maintenance and preservation schedules.
Provide progress reports to the Lead Mechanical Engineer as directed.
Co-ordinate with the other Company discipline groups as directed by the Lead Mechanical Engineer
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 - 15 years relevant experience, including significant relevant experience on large multi-national and multi-location projects.
Qualified mechanical inspector with experience in material preservation and storage
