: Special Educator
Responsibilities
- Activities adapted for special children
- Good relationship and communication with the AIME staff
- Give improvement to special children using special tools
Objectives of the mission of the volunteer
-The volunteer in AIME must give tools and organise activities around it in order the children use it often and be sensitive to it. A training period of all staff is inevitable
Tasks
Non-Formal Education
- Identify learning needs and strategies for each child;
- Prepare schedule of common weekly activities;
- Conduct regular evaluation of the child's progress;
- Implement modules for specific children based on the recommended psycho-educational assessment of the multidisciplinary team;
- Identify and recommend children for vocational/skills training;
- Maintain inventory of stocks used for built-in class.
- Set up trainings for the staff regarding the educational tools (PECS, TEACCH)
Formal Education
- Assist the child in accomplishing take-home work
- Conduct tutorials when necessary.
Others
- Attend meetings / training for staff as required.
- Attend home level case conferences.
- Submit required reports.
Education:
- Degree in Special Education or Equivalent Experiences
Work Experience:
- Experience with handicapped person/special children
Evaluation system
The evaluation will be done by the coordinator program and the volunteer coordinator. First one will be observed after 1 month and after each 2 months.
