[Full-time] Java Developer at Skyy Services

SCOPE:

The Senior Java Developer will have a prominent role within the organization working on a variety of exciting initiatives. The candidate must be a self-starter who is comfortable working with a small team in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to delivering quality software solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Create highly secure Java base web applications
•Design, develop and test software
•Build unit, functional, and integration level tests
•Responsible for full life cycle development
•Develop across the entire stack, including front-end (JSP), business-tier, and database-tier
•Strong involvement with technical design reviews and peer coding review sessions
•Work directly with management to ensure that you are continually exploring and creating cutting edge technologies
REQUIREMENTS:

•B.S. degree in Computer Science, Physics, or Math
•At least 3 years software development experience in a commercial environment
•Object Oriented coding skills in Java – J2SE and/or J2EE
•Must have experience in relational databases design and (SQL) programming; MYSQL favoured
•Must have development experience on Linux; Strong UNIX proficiency required
•NOTE: Microsoft-only candidates will NOT be considered
•Must have experience with automated testing concepts/technologies
•Must have experience using SOAP-based technologies building both clients and servers
•Must have strong written and spoken English skills
•Designing and developing multi tiered Mission Critical systems
•Networking technologies and protocols such as TCP/IP, XML, SOAP, and SSL
•Worked with financial transaction concerns; distributed transactional systems
•Working experience with Perl, C and Shell Scripting
•Development experience on wireless platforms (J2ME, RFID Java Card/JCOP)
•Web GUI programming experience using JSF, JSP and other Java-based technologies
•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and independently
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
