UNICEF Philippines is urgently seeking a passionate and committed professional to work in the Programme Section. This post is responsible to provide technical contribution for project design, planning, monitoring and evaluation of Child Protection projects.

Type and Duration of Contract:
• The full–time assignment will be for six months commencing on in January 2012. This is a TEMPORARY appointment.

Essential Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge/Experience Required:
• Advanced university degree, preferably in the social sciences, law or other relevant field • Five of professional work experience at national and international levels in child protection, including international work experience. • Background/familiarity with Emergency. • Essential technical knowledge of theories, principles and methods in strengthening child protection systems, partner capacity for protecting children against violence; in emergencies, in respect of harmful traditional practices, and in improving justice for children and in social welfare systems. • Essential technical knowledge of theories, principles and methods in the use of data and indicators in child protection. • Excellent computer skills including internet navigation and office applications. Familiarity with SAP is an advantage. • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization. • Fluency in English and a second UN language. Knowledge of the local working language, an advantage.
