Peace Corps Response provides opportunities for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) and experienced professionals to undertake challenging, short-term assignments in various program areas around the world. Qualified applicants can put their professional skills and academic training to work as Peace Corps Response Volunteers, where they will gain additional international experience while imparting technical expertise critical for partner organizations and the communities they serve.

A Peace Corps Response Volunteer is needed to serve as a Drug Rehabilitation Planning Officer for the Department of Health – Maliano Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (MTRC). The center seeks to treat and rehabilitate drug dependents and their families by providing quality residential and aftercare services through a holistic approach. At present, there is a need to formulate the operational framework of the center. The existing design of the program needs to be assessed for areas of improvement, including the screening and admission process, residential treatment program, and aftercare and follow-up program. Areas that need to be prioritized have not yet been identified, which has led to inefficient use/allocation of resources. The needs assessment will be valuable in crafting policies, programs, and services that will be more responsive to the needs of the patients. The operational framework will have a direct impact on the programs and services of the center, including logistical planning.

By the end of this project, the PCRV should have developed a comprehensive needs assessment with corresponding proposal as to what policies and strategies (programs and activities) should be implemented to address the needs identified. The PCRV will be working very closely with his/her counterpart, the program director, and the center’s rehabilitation team. The Volunteer will review existing programs and services and then undertake a comprehensive needs assessment. He or she will present the outcome of this assessment to Department of Health regional and central office personnel and identify the gaps and other challenges in meeting the needs. The PCRV will conduct meetings and consultation dialogues with staff, patients, families, and the community and identify strategies (such as programs, services, and activities) to address the needs or gaps.

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree

Mandatory Qualifications:

-Behavioral science graduate, preferably with a degree in psychology

-Working background as an addiction therapist/counselor, preferably with two years’ experience in the addiction or behavioral modification field

-At least two years of experience conducting needs assessment and planning

1. Monitors receipt of registers and inputs them into the database.

2. Links Investment Managers to Beneficial Owners; includes further researching for the correct Investment Manager to its specific Beneficial Owner and correcting any data errors found.

3. Prepares shareholder identification reports on a quarterly basis or as required by the clients.

4. To process breakouts or banklists received from different custodian banks and other data sources needed to prepare the SID.

5. In charge for producing worksheets for the report, i.e. List of Shareholders; Detailed Ownership Report; Country of Fund Manager; List of Buyers and Sellers, etc.

6. Produce relevant charts and tables and submits them to their counterpart analysts in Europe.

7. Liaise with counterpart analysts in Europe and Asia for an efficient coordination of tasks, enable accurate processing and report preparation and allow an order submission of the needed reports in a timely fashion.

8. Perform all other functions that may be assigned by the Team Manager from time to time.

Qualifications

(1) At least one (1) year of experience from a reputable organization.

(2) Has strong organizational and analytical skills - able to multi-task effectively and efficiently.

(3) Should have good communication skills, has to be fluent in both oral and written English.

(4) Has a keen eye for details, is a team player, fast learner, pro-active, flexible and patient

(5) Should posses good typing skills.

(6) Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel/Power Point and Word. Should also possess good research skills particularly using the web

(7) Holder of Bachelor's Degree in Business-related courses , preferably in Business Management or Administration, Finance or Economics.

Peace Corps Response provides opportunities for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) and experienced professionals to undertake challenging, short-term assignments in various program areas around the world. Qualified applicants can put their professional skills and academic training to work as Peace Corps Response Volunteers, where they will gain additional international experience while imparting technical expertise critical for partner organizations and the communities they serve.

A Peace Corps Response Volunteer is needed to serve as an Occupational Therapy Specialist for Norfil Foundation, Inc.—a local nongovernmental organization specializing in the care and rehabilitation of disabled, neglected, and abandoned children through community and family-based programs. Norfil uses a community-based rehabilitation strategy for rehabilitation, equalization of opportunities, poverty reduction, and social inclusion of children and youth with disabilities. For the past few years, the foundation has been successful in training parents, community volunteers, and public school teachers on special education and integration of children with disabilities into regular schools. However, the foundation needs to improve in the areas of physical and occupational therapy. Specifically, Norfil needs a technical consultant to provide intensive training to community volunteers on different therapeutic strategies for improving the fine and gross motor skills of children with mobility challenges. The foundation also sees a need to train young adults on vocational rehabilitation for livelihood opportunities and employment.

A PCRV skilled in physical or occupational therapy will develop a training manual for staff, community volunteers, and parents that will equip them to: (1) assist children and youth with motor problems to maximize their abilities and become more independent; (2) promote the prevention of secondary complications as a result of physical disabilities; and (3) ensure that children and youth with motor problems have access to and equal opportunities for education, employment, and other activities of mainstream society. In addition to developing the training manual, the Occupational Therapy Specialist will provide training to caregivers and demonstrate techniques and strategies for handling children with motor problems and delays. The PCRV will develop a checklist to be used by staff and volunteers for monitoring parents in the implementation of a home program for children with motor problems. The Volunteer will also assist Norfil in establishing linkages with other organizations serving children with motor problems and delays. As time permits, the PCRV will design and implement training on vocational rehabilitation and employment for young adults with disabilities.

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree

Mandatory Qualifications:

-Degree in physical or occupational therapy

-At least two years of experience working with community-based rehabilitation programs

-Broad experience in handling motor dysfunction and motor delay in children with disabilities

-At least two years of experience working in vocational and sheltered workshops for persons with disabilities

A Peace Corps Response Volunteer is needed to serve as an Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Technical Advisor for the Capiz Emergency Response Team (CERT). The CERT is a newly-established project of the Capiz Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, whose goal is to establish an organized EMS rescue team. The mission of this team, the CERT, is to carry out emergency measures during and in the aftermath of man-made and natural disasters. There is an urgent need to build the capability of the CERT staff, as most of them are new to their positions. There is inadequate training of knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the CERT’s success.

A PCRV experienced with rescue and EMS is needed to develop a CERT training manual and provide an orientation for staff and volunteers. The PCRV will participate in fieldwork visits, conduct consultation dialogues with stakeholders, and review the organizational structure of the council and CERT. The Volunteer will then use the information gained to develop a CERT training manual, recommend institutional policies to enhance CERT operations, and conduct EMS training sessions for CERT staff and volunteers. The end result of this assignment is to improve the CERT’s ability to respond to natural and man-made disasters.

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree

Mandatory Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in EMS or related field preferred

-Two years of work experience in rescue and emergency medical service

-Working background in creating and establishing EMS and rescue training manuals

Bahay Tuluyan was founded in 1987 in response to the growing number of street children in the Manila area. Bahay Tuluyan has developed various alternative education programs for street children over the years, and strives to protect and empower them through education.

Bahay Tuluyan has developed a fundraising plan in order to lessen its reliance on international funding agencies. This plan includes a variety of self-reliance programs including raising goats and producing dairy products. A PCRV is needed to help Bahay Tuluyan develop a functional system for running the goat farm, and hold meetings with staff on the new fundraising plans. The Volunteer will work side-by-side with a core group of staff and children to develop and implement a milk processing system and training manual. The Volunteer will then conduct training sessions for staff on the new system. The PCRV will also demonstrate methods and techniques for goat-raising in order to combat the current high mortality rate of the goats.

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree

Mandatory Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in a related field

-Two years of experience in animal/goat husbandry

Lead Installation Engineer - Philippines

A large Oil and Gas Engineering Contractor currently requires a Lead Installation Engineer to be based in the Philippines.

This organisation is the Substructure Engineering Contractor for a large new self installing platform. The substructure consists of a barge deck for support of the topsides, 4 large diameter tubular legs and four steel footings. The platform is self installing using a heavy lift hydraulic jacking system. The structure is founded on a prepared seabed in 43m of water and is bridge linked to the existing shallow water platform. The platform is to be installed alongside the existing operating asset with minimum interruption. Installation is anticipated in late 2014 and project close-out is to be complete in early 2015.

The Lead Installation Engineer is to join the project team and be responsible for the following work scope:

Lead up the Marine Operations and Installation Engineering worksEnsure that the Marine Operations and Installation works can be carried out safely and in accordance with the Client's requirements for Health, Safety, Security and Environment.Provide supervision to the Naval Architects carrying out the installation and hydrodynamic analysis workProvide supervision and guidance for the wave tank testing works to be carried out early in detailed design.Prepare high level plans and procedures for all aspects of installation, including seabed preparation, wet-tow, installation, scour protection, solid ballasting, bridging installation and decommissioning of all installation systems. Plans and procedures to be sufficient for completion of detailed design.Develop detailed specifications and scopes of work for all installation packages for procurement of the transportation and installation contractors.Work with the topsides layout team to develop layouts for all temporary systems.Work with the structural team for the design of all temporary works, including boat landings, temporary access, equipment supports, seafastenings, etc.Provide follow-on support to the Client for the implementation phase post detailed design, including review of procedures by the transportation and installation contractors, response to RFI and TQs, participation in HAZIDs, risk assessments and other associated workshops.Participate in the installation work, including providing offshore assistance to the Client during all aspects of the Marine Operations associated with platform installation.

The candidate is expected to have the following experience:

Engineering Degree8-15 years experience in installation of offshore structures.Specific experience working with major oil companies, including working under the rigorous HSE policies of the major oil companies.Experience working with design contractors and leading up an installation engineering teamPreferable to have experience working with self-installing platform or heavy lifting for offshore structuresPreferable to have experience working in South East Asia and specifically the Philippines.

Educate providers and plan participants on benefits of provider network.
Effectively handle a variety of customer or provider requests/needs. Follow through to assure problem resolution.
Complete intake screening which includes obtaining and documenting in the medical management system all require patient, provider, demographic and treatment information.
Determine the necessity for pre-certification of services requested based upon policy and benefit protocols, correct service center etc.
Review past medical/claim history and document updates in the medical management system as appropriate.
If appropriate, refer case to a Case or Care Coordinator for assessment based on patient information and the care/services requested.
Act as the liaison between the Case and Care Coordinator for assessment based on patient information and the care/services requested.
Process faxes, emails, IRU.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in a medical or healthcare field is HIGHLY PREFERRED.
At least 6 months - 1 year health care or health plan experience with the ability to perform ICD-9, CPT and HCPC coding is an ADVANTAGE.
At least 6 months – 1 year experience working in a BPO/Call Center.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Experience in using MS Windows based PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Understanding of basic medical terminology.
Open to work on a night shift schedule.
